Luxembourg. One of the richest countries yet one of the smallest in the world.
We went here via train (as usual) which took about 3 to 4 hours total. When we arrived in the city, it was surprising that Luxembourg is not that ultra-rich. It just looked fine. The city was just okay compared to other cities like Paris or Amsterdam. We spent the first three hours of our stay here inside an H&M store because they were on sale. It was ironic to shop in this place where the per capita income amounts to $55100 (2003)! But then again, even rich countries love sales apparently, that’s why I got to buy one shirt 50% off!
Well, that’s the highlight of my trip to Luxembourg.
Just kidding. Well, to be honest, there’s not much to see in Luxembourg. Being a grand duchy, we visited the Duke’s Palace. Also, the city centre boasts of a UNESCO Heritage Site where the first fortifications of the city where made. This area is basically a valley with ruins, small cute post-cardy houses, and castle like structures and lots of greenery.
If you plan to visit Luxembourg, just do it for a day. You can see most of the stuff just walking.
