Amsterdam, the best damn place i have been so far!

Highlights: Amsterdam Centraal (that’s not a typo, that how they spell it!), Dam Square, the infamous Sex Museum and Red Light District (no pictures allowed though) the Iamsterdam installation in Museumplein, the Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank Huis and postcard worthy houses besides the canals.

What I liked best about Amsterdam is that it is a city of diversity and of contrasts. All sorts of races can be found here and almost everyone can speak English aside from Dutch, German and French.

The geography of Amsterdam is also cool because everything is perfectly flat! No hills, no mountains, making walks easier! I have read in a map that most of Amsterdam is actually below sea level. Well, the whole city-centre is surrounded by water actually. Almost every street is divided by a big canal. Yes, they are canals but they are clean ones where swans, ducks and seagulls hangout.

Amsterdam as a city is full of contrasts. Drugs such as marijuana are legal here. Prostitution is also allowed. Yet, the people here are generally well behaved. Unlike in Paris, there is hardly any vandalism around Amsterdam. Also, the streets are clean and maintained. People are also nicer and friendlier.

Although, most illegal stuff are legal in Amsterdam, I noticed that people here still love the quietness and quaintness of a simple life. I really like the fact that residents here travel the city using bikes and maintain there houses in the traditional style that I used to see in postcards.

I must say that if there would be another place I would want to live in aside from home and Lyon, it definitely be Amsterdam because it just so damn good!
