Basilique du Sacre Coeur sits on top the hill of Montmartre, the highest point in Paris,  giving visitors a view of the city. The Catholic Church dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is melange of the Roman and Byzantine architecture. The main altar of the church has a huge mosaic of Christ and the saints.

The district where the Church is located is a district that is very different from the center of Paris. Instead of a very glamorous feel, Montmartre is more on the laidback side. Being the home of some of the greatest artisists in the world for sometime, Montmartre continues to inspire people to unleash the artist within them. With its squares teeming with people who either want a cup of coffee or a sketch done by local artist, Montmartre is one of the districts of Paris one should never forget to visit. Near Montmartre is the district of Pigalle, where the famous Moulin Rouge is located. Dinner and show is expensive at about 90 euros per person.

Another place to visit (again!) at night is the Louvre, since I.M. Pei’s impressive glass pyramid is lighted as well as the facade of the different wings. Day or night, the Louvre is just a feast for the eyes.
